Responsible trading
Betting is supposed to be fun. The moment it stops being fun, something's gone wrong, and Kohana is built to help you catch that early, not to look the other way.
We don't run a casino. No slot-machine tricks, no near-miss animations designed to keep you hooked, no house quietly winning while you lose. But the bets are real money, and real money can get away from anyone. So the tools to stay in control are here from day one, not bolted on later.
A few honest rules
- Only stake what you can afford to lose. This is entertainment money. Not rent, not an investment plan.
- Never chase. Trying to win a loss back with a bigger bet is how a bad day becomes a bad month.
- Set your limits cold. Decide before you start, not three losses deep.
- Take breaks. Walk away often. The markets will still be there.
Tools that keep you in control
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Deposit limits | Cap how much you can add per day, week, or month. |
| Cool-off | Pause your own betting for a set stretch. |
| Self-exclusion | Lock yourself out for an extended period. |
| Activity history | See every deposit, bet, and outcome, laid out plainly. |
You'll find these under Account → Responsible trading.
One thing worth knowing: the controls are deliberately one-sided in your favour. Lower a limit and it bites immediately. Raise one and it takes time to come into force, so a calm decision can't be undone in a heated moment.
Knowing when to step back
Consider a cool-off or self-exclusion if you notice yourself:
- Betting more than you planned, or with money meant for something else.
- Chasing losses, or betting to escape stress.
- Hiding it, or feeling anxious and irritable when you can't.
- Borrowing money to fund your account.
None of these are character flaws. They're signals. Acting on them early is the whole point of the tools above.
Help, no judgement
If betting stops feeling fun or starts causing harm, free and confidential support is available wherever you are.
- Gambling Therapy offers free help online, in many languages, anywhere in the world: https://www.gamblingtherapy.org.
- Most countries also run their own national gambling helpline. Look yours up through your local regulator, or search "gambling help" with your country.
Reaching out early costs nothing and changes everything.
You're always in control
You can set a cool-off or self-exclusion at any time, for any reason, with no explanation owed to anyone. It takes effect immediately.
You must be 18 or over
Kohana is strictly for adults 18 and over, in supported regions. Age and identity are checked when you verify your account.
